November 4, 2020
Dear Campus Life Staff,
Election Day 2020 is finally behind us. However, as President Fenves noted in his post-election message, votes continue to be counted across our country and we must respect the process and patiently await the results.
I deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of Emory students and Campus Life staff who have called us over the past several months to embrace our civic responsibilities. I am equally thankful for our many students, faculty, and staff who heard that call and exercised the right to vote as a pillar of our democracy.
Our university offers a range of post-election activities for those who want to continue their engagement with the election and the many issues surrounding it. The Emory Votes Initiative (EVI) website is a great place to start. As members of our campus community continue to engage in the political process, let’s keep in mind Emory’s commitment to open expression and the respectful sharing of diverse points of view. Please see President Fenves’ message for additional resources.
On the other hand, if you feel the need to step back and take a deep breath following this historic campaign season, please do so. Make your physical, mental, and emotional health a top priority – and don’t hesitate to reach out to Emory’s Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) for support.
I will close by thanking you, as always, for the extraordinary work you do every day on campus and from home to support our Emory students and keep them safe in this difficult time. Please devote the same energy to caring for yourselves. Be safe and well.
Best wishes,
Enku |
