Career Center. The  Career Center , a Campus Life organization serving Emory undergraduate students, collaborated with Mercer University and the Georgia Association of Colleges and Employers (GACE) to  cohost the inaugural GACE Diversity and Inclusion Summit in December on Mercer’s Atlanta campus. The event attracted more than 120 professionals across the state and focused on the imperative for college career centers and corporate recruiters to recognize and respond to evolving diversity and inclusion issues. Paul Fowler, Career Center executive director, serves as GACE’s vice president for institutions.

Campus Life Center. The outlines of the new facility are increasingly visible as work proceeds as crews continue to set steel, columns, beams, and decking for the south pavilion. Also scheduled is placement of the ceiling for the main mechanical room and columns and footings in the loading dock area. The new entrance door on the  southwest corner of the AMUC will be completed soon. Emory Campus Life Center construction updateThis January aerial view illustrates the significant progress made over the past month with the setting of steel columns, beams, and metal decking. In addition, concrete footings and underground conduits for utilities have been installed and backfilled. (Photo provided by Campus Services.)

The ends of the ductwork are enclosed in plastic to keep out construction dust and debris. White bands indicate where mastic is applied to seal joints and prevent air from escaping once the ductwork is in operation. (Photo provided by Campus Services.)
