In the News Blue

All In A Day. Kudos to Team Campus Life! During this February fundraising event for the Emory community, Campus Life had 184 donations to the university, up from 63 in 2017, substantially more than doubling our participation. But wait; there’s more! Campus Life donations this year totaled $36,126, compared with $7,941 last year, more than quadrupling our 2017 effort. University-wide totals also saw substantial increases, although not as impressive as ours. Emory donors, as a whole, contributed 3,415 gifts this year, compared with 2,246 in 2017, for a total of $1,002,251, an increase from $582,722 last year.

Asbury Circle to Close. CLC-related construction and the replacement of a steam line will impact Asbury Circle in two phases, beginning in August and extending through most of spring 2019. Construction fencing for phase 1 will limit access to the circle; however, the circle will remain open for student move-in during August. Wonderful Wednesdays will be conducted on Cox Hall bridge through this next academic year, and of course, pedestrian traffic will be routed around the impacted area. Phase 2 of the steam line project will be undertaken in early 2019 and completed before commencement. Additional details will be provided as information becomes available.

AMUC Elevator Replacement. The elevator in the Alumni Memorial University Center is being replaced and will be out of service from June 25 through August 6. Loud construction noise will occur periodically during this time, especially on the 1st and 4th floors because most work will be done with the elevator on one of these two levels. If you are concerned about a potential disruption of work or have other questions, please contact the University Center information desk at 404.727.INFO (4636) and the UC team will assist you.
