Adrianna Baggetta has been named Emory Eagles head softball coach. She will begin her duties on September 5, bringing 16 years of Division I coaching experience to the Eagles' program. Baggetta spent the past eight seasons on the staff at the University of Iowa, the first six as an assistant and the final two as associate head coach. Don Cornwell, director of Career Services, participated in the United States Marine Corps Recruiting Command's 2018 Educators and Key Leaders Workshop in Quantico, Virginia, last month to explore the Corps’ career opportunities for Emory graduates. The workshop cultivates relationships between the Marine Corps and educators and community leaders from around the country. David Clark, associate vice president of Campus Life, served on a panel, and Paul Fowler, executive director of the Career Center, delivered closing remarks for the inaugural “Discovering Emory: A Corporate Day Event” this month. The event, hosted by Emory’s Office of Corporate Relations, brought Atlanta companies to campus for vendor exhibits, a corporate/small business match session, a “how well do you know Emory session,” and a panel discussion on the value of partnering with Emory.

Sandra Edwards will fill the executive administrative assistant position in Campus Life, supporting the office of the vice president. She will also continue to provide support for Suzanne Onorato, assistant vice president of Community. Sandra holds a bachelor's in psychology from Georgia State University and a master’s in science management and a graduate certificate in human resources management from St. Thomas University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology from Northcentral University.

Marlon Gibson will make a presentation to the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA) at the organization’s 47th annual meeting, November 28 through December 1, in Indianapolis. Marlon’s presentation will explore the topic of senior sorority/fraternity black professionals navigating the campus as leaders. Learn more about AFA: https://www.afa1976.org/ 

A.T. Helix joins Emory as coordinator of student and facilities operations with the University Center. She served previously as operations coordinator with Student Housing and Residence Life at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. A.T. holds a bachelor’s in neuroscience and a Master of Public Health in health behavior. 

B. David Hunter is the new assistant director of facilities management in Housing Operations. He served previously as construction and facilities management officer with the U.S. Army and state construction and facilities management officer with the Georgia Department of Defense. He holds a bachelor’s in civil engineering technology, a master’s in management and leadership, and certification as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in strategic planning. His professional experience includes cyber construction and security. 

Nicole Jackson joins Campus Life as associate director of sorority and fraternity life, bringing experience from Auburn University at Montgomery, where she served as a counseling center coordinator. Nicole also served at the University of Alabama as assistant director of fraternity and sorority life. She holds a bachelor’s from Alabama State University and a master’s in education counseling from Auburn University at Montgomery. Nichole is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. 

Kathy Moss will end her 15-year tenure as the executive administrative assistant for the vice president of Campus Life this month. After serving as a school teacher for a number of years, she joined Emory in 2003 as administrative assistant to John L. Ford, then dean of Campus Life. She continued in that role with Dean Ford’s successor, Ajay Nair. She currently reports to Paul Marthers, interim dean. A retirement celebration is planned for 4:00-5:30 p.m., August 15, in the Raoul Hall lobby. See the story about Kathy in this issue of ECL Connections.
