Emory CL kudos

Shantrell Bowe has joined Campus Life as a career counselor in the Emory University Career Center. She comes to Emory from her role as a career counselor at Georgia College and State University. Earlier, she served as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami in the Office of the Dean of Students. She holds a master’s in higher education with a concentration in enrollment management and a post-graduate certificate in student life and development.

Tomika DePriest, senior director of Communications, has been chosen as a judging coordinator for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III awards committee. In this role, she may select two or more other judges to assist her in reviewing and judging the materials submitted for the awards program. The conference, in Atlanta, February 24-27, 2019, expects to attract 1,500 participants. CASE is a membership association serving educational institutions and professionals.

Tharyn Giovanni Grant is a new clinician with Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). A licensed clinical social worker, he served previously with youth and young adults, providing mental health services in the community. He has specialties working with people experiencing trauma and anxiety, as well as other populations, including queer and trans young adults. Tharyn holds an MSW from Smith College. 

Brian Klarman is the new assistant director of debate with the Barkley Forum. He is a former assistant debate coach at Dartmouth University, where he earned a master’s in liberal arts. He also holds a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies from Emory.
