Kudos ECL

Elijah Ajayi has been promoted to associate director in the Office of Conference Services, developing marketing initiatives for the Summer Intern Housing Program, coordinating conferences programs at Clairmont Campus, supervising student staff, and assisting with operations on main campus. Elijah joined Emory as a graduate assistant in Athletics in 2007 and moved to Conference Services in 2016. He received his master’s in sports administration from Georgia State University and bachelor’s in management from Clayton State University. 

Michael Demers has joined the Atlanta Urban Debate League program in the Center for Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) as an intern serving as a coordinator. He served formerly as a legal researcher and paralegal at a law firm in Atlanta. He holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Emory. 

Hallie Dowling-Huppert is a new coordinator in the Center for Civic and Community Engagement (CCE). Most recently, she was a retention coordinator in the Office of Latino Student Services and Outreach at Georgia State University. Hallie holds an master’s in education in community engagement and higher education administration from Merrimack College and a bachelor’s international studies and peace studies from Guilford College. 

Jonathan Duke, associate director of Student Center Operations and Events, has accepted a position at Kennesaw State University as the inaugural director of Camps, Conferences, and Business Development in the division of Campus Services. His last day with Emory was Oct. 3.

Ed Lee, senior director of the Barkley Forum for Debate, Deliberation and Dialogue, brought keynote remarks on the topic of community for the fall kickoff of “Conversations on the Quad.” He followed Emory President Claire E. Sterk who welcomed attendees to the October 4 event. Conversations among attendees considered questions such as: What does community mean to you? Where do you find it? Meenakshi Palaniappan joined Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) as staff psychologist, having served previously as staff psychologist at Dartmouth College. Meenakshi earned her PhD and master’s in counseling psychology from the University of Florida and a bachelor’s in psychology at the University of San Francisco. 

Daniela Muñoz Rogers serves as complex director of Harris Hall and coordinates the Second Year at Emory (SYE) Program. She comes to Emory from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she served as a residence hall director. Daniela completed her master's in higher education and student affairs at Ohio State University, where she also served as an assistant hall director. She holds a bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies with emphases in human development and family studies, biology, and Spanish from Auburn University. 

Jordan Schilit is the new assistant coach for Emory Eagles cross country and track, after serving in that role at Middlebury College. He was a six-time NCAA All-American at Haverford College, a former professional athlete for the Nike/Oregon Track Club, and coached over 30 All-Americans while at Middlebury College. Jordan is a USATF Level 1 certified coach and holds a bachelor’s in fine arts from Haverford.
