Administrative Professionals Luncheon. This annual event recognizes the work of administrative support staff, a committed team of professionals who are essential to maintaining the excellent service that Campus Life delivers daily to Emory students and the entire university community. The event was conceived by Ieisha Fuller, human resources associate, when she was an administrative assistant. Her goal was to create recognition, networking, and professional development opportunities for administrative professionals. The April 25 event offered great food and gifts for 18 participants. The keynote speaker was Sheila Tiller-Tooks, who led participants through several exercises in communications.

Barkley Forum. In April, four Barkley Forum students competed in the 2019 Lafayette Debates tournament in Washington, DC, and won four of seven study trips to Paris. Hosted by the French Embassy to the United States and George Washington University, the Lafayette Debates is an international platform for student dialogue and debate. It is based on the belief that a vigorous and respectful transatlantic dialogue is of the utmost importance, not only to the citizens of France and the United States, but also to the world. The French Embassy provides the study trips in late June for the two best two-person teams and the top three speakers. Ryan James and Tanner Lewis comprised one of the two best teams. Sukriti Rawal and Gabi Yamout were the top two speakers. Read the story in this issue at http://campuslife.emory.edu/news/news/2019/20190507_Barkley_Forum_Lafayette_Debates.html.

Emory x Me. This visual and oral history (pronounced “Emory and Me”) was launched this spring by Campus Life’s Office of Communications. The campaign celebrates some of the unique student stories that make Emory who we are – a community of passionate and purposeful people changing the world and our place in it. In April, we highlighted 10 students and invited others to share their stories using the hashtag #LifeAtEmory. We will continue to post our favorites. Follow these student stories across our social media platforms or at http://campuslife.emory.edu/student-voices/index.html.
