Wanda Collins

Wanda Collins, vice president of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), represented Campus Life on a panel presented annually by the Center for Ethics at Emory, on Nov. 13. This year’s topic was the Intersection of Business, Healthcare, and Ethics Business.

Wanda discussed recent mental health trends, including the increase in demand for mental health services on college campuses, the 30 percent increase in the rate of deaths by suicide in the U.S. between 2000 and 2016, and the impact of pharmaceutical companies direct marketing campaigns over the past two decades.

The dialogue broadly focused on the intersection of government policies, capitalism, and consumer responsibilities in various public health issues. Learn more about CAPS: http://counseling.emory.edu/
