King Week 2020. Campus Life, the Office of Spiritual and Religious Life, and the Department of African American Studies have teamed up to lead the annual university-wide event, Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Jan. 20-26. This year’s keynote speaker is Nikole Hannah-Jones, an award-winning investigative reporter who covers civil rights and racial injustice for The New York Times Magazine. The celebration features opportunities for volunteer service in local communities around Oxford College in Newton County and the Atlanta campus in Metro Atlanta. Additional programs include readings of Dr. King’s works and a discussion of voter suppression and voter rights with noted Emory professor Carol Anderson.
