Goodrich C. White Lecture to feature astronaut, NFL player Leland Melvin
The only person drafted into the National Football League to have flown in space, Leland Melvin is an engineer, educator, former NASA astronaut and NFL wide receiver. He served on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis as a mission specialist in 2009, helping to construct the International Space Station. After 24 years with NASA as a researcher, astronaut, and senior executive service leader, Melvin shares his life story in those careers, along with photographer and musician, to help inspire the next generation of explorers to pursue STEAM careers.

Hasset Nurelegne receives prestigious NIH scholarship
Emory College junior Hasset Nurelegne is one of only 12 recipients selected to receive the prestigious National Institutes of Health undergraduate scholarship for 2022-23
.
Nurelegne, a Silver Springs, Maryland, native who is pursuing a double major in English and neuroscience and behavioral biology (NBB), is one of just 12 recipients of the highly competitive award, which she has the option to renew next year.
