Audrey Hester takes on new role in Athletics
On March 1, Audrey Hester began transitioning from her previous role overseeing the Eagle Edge and Compliance Program to the role of senior project support specialist. In this new position, she provides primary support in Athletics and in Recreation and Wellness. Her responsibilities include project management and strategic initiatives, training new staff, coordinating special projects and events, supporting the physical education curriculum, and assisting

with department communication. Before joining Emory in 2017, Hester was a postgraduate intern with the NCAA. Earlier in her career, she served as operations and facilities coordinator at Randolph-Macon College. At RMC, she was a member of the lacrosse team for four years, served as team captain, received all-conference acclaim, and played field hockey for two years. Hester earned a bachelor’s degree with honors from RMC and holds a master’s in higher education with a concentration in athletics administration from the University of Virginia. Until her previous position is filled this spring, Hester will continue to work with student-athletes, monitor their academic progress, and oversee rules compliance, as well as perform her Eagle Edge responsibilities. Campus Life response has been low. Please complete Emory 2024 Staff Engagement and Future of Work Survey before this Friday, March 15
This survey asks several engagement questions such as how you feel about working at Emory, what it is like interacting with your work team, your satisfaction with your job, and your opinions about trust, respect, and belonging. The survey also asks about Emory's culture to provide important data for a campus-wide Future of Work project that will create a shared vision for the future of work at the university. All staff members who complete the survey will be automatically entered in a prize drawing for Emory swag from the Emory Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Just for fun: Join Campus Life's March Madness bracket competition
Are you excited about the big dance? We're excited to announce Campus Life's NCAA March Madness bracket competition! Get ready to test your collegiate basketball knowledge and prediction skills as we approach the climax of the NCAA season. Review the instructions and rules on how to join the Campus Life group on ESPN's March Madness bracket competition for the tournament. To participate, you must submit your completed bracket(s) before noon on March 21.
Only Campus Life professional staff may participate. Late submissions cannot be accepted. Campus Life winners will receive Emory swag and bragging rights.

Campus Life Finance invites your feedback to enhance customer service
The continual enhancement of customer service is a primary commitment of the Campus Life Finance Center. Because your input is essential to this effort, you are invited to participate in a brief survey to provide feedback on the center’s services. The survey is anonymous by default. AI.Humanity initiative announces spring 2024 seminar series
The Emory community is invited to delve into the ethical, societal and scientific implications of AI and machine learning technology during a four-part seminar series beginning March 6. Sponsored by the Office of the Provost and the Center for AI Learning, the series will highlight new research and interdisciplinary perspectives via engaging and accessible TED-style talks delivered by AI.Humanity faculty. Rapt By Others: Campus Life Book Salon
Join the third edition of Rapt By Others, a book club exploring cultural differences by reading and discussing memoirs that engage a range of human experiences. Meeting monthly at the Emory Bookstore, participants discuss one book in each session to deepen their appreciation of the myriad ways in which human lives unfold. Books are free for participants. Coffee, tea, wine, cheese, and fruit are served. Participants should sign up here for the book(s) they want to discuss. Next, contact Liz Carlino ( ecarli2@emory.edu) to obtain the book(s). Emory community members visit Georgia State Capitol for Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, Emory students, staff and faculty participated in the second annual Black History Month Day at the Georgia State Capitol on Feb. 27. The group toured the capitol, watched a legislative session, connected with lawmakers, heard from speakers and learned ways to become civically engaged. The trip was organized by the Emory Votes Initiative (EVI), which is part of the Center for Civic and Community Engagement (CCE), Emory Black Employee Network and Emory Black Student Union in collaboration with Black student leaders and organizations, including Emory NAACP, Black Student Alliance, Brother of Afrocentric Men, and others.

Claire Brock named a finalist for the 2024 Jostens Trophy
The Rotary Club of Salem has announced Emory University women's basketball graduate student Claire Brock as one of only 10 finalists for the 2024 Jostens Trophy. In addition to compiling her exceptional basketball record, Brock is working toward a master's in bioethics and maintains a 4.0 GPA. She became the first Academic All-American in Emory women's basketball history. A two-time Academic All-American in her career, Brock earned first team honors in 2023 and second team acclaim in 2022.

Healthy Emory's Operation Eat Right ends on March 31. Participants will dive deeper into nutrition and wellness by reading four articles, focusing on eating a well-balanced meal and more. Join a running group with Healthy Emory
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just starting, there’s no better time to join a running group at Emory. Healthy Emory is partnering with Blomeyer Health Fitness Center and Big Peach Running Company to host weekly running groups at multiple locations across metro Atlanta. These groups welcome individuals of all skill levels, whether you're a dedicated enthusiast or simply contemplating taking up running.
