Additionally, the Faculty and Staff Giving Challenge will take place between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. EDT on Thursday, March 28. The four areas with the most faculty and staff gifts will share $5,000 in bonus awards! Award dollars will go to the fund designation with the most qualifying gifts in each of the four winning areas.

Hector Cuevas takes on new responsibilities with ORSFL
In his new role as associate director of operations for the Office of Residence, Sorority, and Fraternity Life (ORSFL), Hector Cuevas (he/him) directs most of the operational functions of ORSFL. This includes student staff selection and training, student staff professional development, and housing operations along Eagle Row. He reports to Scott Rausch, senior director of Sorority and Fraternity Life.

Cuevas originally joined Campus Life in 2018 and later left for a position with another university before returning in 2022. Most recently, he served as assistant director for Sorority and Fraternity Life. Cuevas holds a master's degree in college student personnel administration from Illinois State University, a bachelor's in psychology and criminal justice from Florida International University and is currently a first-year doctoral student in the student affairs leadership EdD program at the University of Georgia. Gerrod Gracia and Kisa Wilson join Student Health Services team

Gerrod Gracia (he/him) is the new triage nurse for Student Health Services (SHS), reporting to Kimberly Crow, director of nursing. Gracia will provide professional nursing care, health education and health services to Emory students. His previous assignments include serving as a surgical/transplant intensive care unit nurse with Emory University Hospital and a travel nurse (ICU) with Tufts Medical Center. Gracia holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chamberlain University. He is an avid reader and practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Gracia and Samantha, his wife of eight years, share their home with their dog Odin. You can welcome Gerrod to the Campus Life family at gerrod.gracia@emory.edu.
Kisa Wilson (she/her) joined Student Health Services (SHS) as referral coordinator, reporting to Harold King, revenue cycle manager. Wilson specializes in connecting students with the appropriate healthcare resources both on and off campus. She collaborates with healthcare providers, coordinates appointments, and advocates for the highest quality student care. Wilson served previously as a certified nursing assistant II in a cardiac intensive care unit with the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and in the same role with the emergency department at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from the University of Arizona Global Campus and enjoys reading, swimming and meditation. New Cox Hall Market scheduled to open fall 2025
Major dining upgrades are on the way for Emory's Atlanta campus, with renovations for Cox Hall Food Court set to begin this summer. The updates will create a more spacious and efficient dining atmosphere, among other improvements.

Staff volunteers needed for Dooley’s Week Concert
Campus Life staff can sign up to help with check-in and crowd control at the Dooley's Week concert on Friday, April 5. Volunteer for one or both of two time slots: either 6-8 p.m. and/or 8-10 p.m. Specific roles will be assigned based on need but all will be low involvement – just need the helpful hands. Emory community invited to enjoy Dooley’s Week fun activities
Monday, April 1, 6-9 p.m., McDonough Field. All members of the university community are invited to join the Student Programming Council (SPC) for Dooley’s Week 2024 and the Dooleylympics kick-off! Don’t miss Dooley's torch lighting ceremony, s'mores by the fire pits, a world of inflatable games, delicious catered Indian cuisine, Yeti’s and Burt's Bees lip balm, and the vibrant tapestry of cultural dances from diverse campus clubs.
Tuesday, April 2, 6-8 p.m. McDonough Field. Taste of Emory is the university’s premiere student-led cultural food event, blending cuisine from top Atlanta food vendors.
Wednesday, April 3, 6-8 p.m. McDonough Field. Show off your competitive spirit and win prizes at Dooley’s Olympic Games. Create a team to compete in the bubble soccer, spike ball, or pie eating competition – or simply come for Chick-fil-A, popsicles, cotton candy and tie dye.
Friday, April 5, doors open at 6 p.m. McDonough Field. Dooley’s Week Concert. The opener is Icona Pop; the headliner is Flo Milli.

The Campus Life Awards for Superlative Service (CLASS) Awards annual celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, April 30, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Emory Student Center. See you there!

Kate Grace and Roland Witter honored with Emory's Award of Distinction
The Award of Distinction is the highest award for university staff, annually recognizing employees who have made outstanding contributions to the Emory community. Two Campus Life colleagues are among this year's honorees, Kate Grace (above right), senior program coordinator, Center for Civic and Community Engagement, and Roland C. Witter, lead financial analyst, Campus Life Finance Center. Following the awards reception on April 17, more information about each honoree will be published in the Emory Report.
