With the start of summer, Campus Life wants to remind you of our existing policies around remote work. These policies are designed to provide flexibility while maintaining departmental coverage that centers our work in support of the campus student experience.
Flexible Workplace Arrangements
Our Flexible Workplace Arrangements policy outlines the process of approval from staff to director to ELT. All plans must be approved through the outlined leadership channel. This policy only applies to “break times.” The next upcoming break is May 15 through July 31, 2023.
For summer 2023, the policy essentials remain the same, but we have made small revisions that will make the policy more evergreen.
FWA is not required or guaranteed. Approval should be in alignment with operational needs and the type of position.
Out-of-State Work
As we look to FWA for summer, it is also important to note Emory’s Employment in States Other than Georgia policy. Policy 2.91 is available online. This policy applies to work out-of-state that goes beyond 30 days. Given the labor law and tax compliance matters involved, out-of-state work under this policy needs approvals in advance from directors and ELT members in addition to executive university approvals through the Campus Life Central Business Office, the Senior Vice President of Campus Life, the Vice President of Human Resources, the Senior Vice Provost of Strategic Finance and Resource Planning, and the Vice President for Finance and Treasury.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss specific scenarios, please reach out to your department director.
