Dear Team,
Over the past year and half, there have been significant changes to Campus Life leadership and our organizational structure. The goal of our strategic realignment has been to bolster integrated health, well-being and belonging-focused services, programs, and initiatives for Emory's broad community of undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
Collectively, we have accomplished a lot to this point, and I see the destination we are traveling to on the horizon. I also want to recognize that ongoing changes within and outside of Campus Life have a resounding impact on our team and our work. I truly appreciate your grace, patience, and confidence as we move forward. Change can bring many challenges, but it also brings new opportunities. I encourage our team to face changes with optimism and support for each other.
This month, we welcomed our new associate vice president for belonging, engagement, and community and dean of students. As we approach this new portion of our journey, I want to share special note of thanks to Dr. Kyle R. Williams for the work he has done within Campus Life and the greater Emory community. Kyle joined us little over a year ago in a temporary role to aid in a time of transition and to shepherd our work with Keeling & Associates, a higher education consulting and professional services firm. His efforts have allowed us to keep moving forward.
To continue to support our transition, Kyle has graciously agreed to serve as special advisor to the associate vice president for belonging, engagement, and community and dean of students until January 31, 2024 to further support our crisis management and response efforts which includes participation on the CARE team, threat assessment, Campus Life Incident Response Team (CLIRT), and bias response. Additionally, he will continue work leading our Black Male Initiative and working on other special projects as needed. Kyle will be refining the frameworks we have built allowing us to further create a culture of comprehensive support for students.
As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Warmly,
