Campus Life is launching Emory’s Center for Student Wellbeing this fall as the focal point for the university’s culture of wellbeing and the hub for holistic health promotion, prevention, education, and coaching for all students. Megan G. Brown will serve as inaugural executive director of the center. She brings 25 years of experience in student counseling and student wellbeing in higher education. Brown will be an integral member of the health and wellbeing leadership team, campus content expert, and advocate for student wellbeing. Learn more.

Jasmine Gresham 24PH hired as fitness and wellness coordinator Athletics and Recreation’s new fitness and wellness coordinator is Jasmine Gresham, reporting to John Ridgway, assistant director of fitness and wellness. Gresham served previously as the graduate assistant for fitness and wellness with the Recreation and Wellness team. In her new role, she oversees fitness spaces, fitness student staff,

personal training program, and collaborative programs for all students and the broader Emory community. Gresham recently completed requirements for a master's degree in public health in behavioral, social, and health education sciences from the Rollins School of Public Health and holds a bachelor's in education, health, and physical education from the University of Georgia. She enjoys reading, exercising, live entertainment, including concerts and Atlanta sporting events, and cheering on her undergrad alma mater UGA. Office of Compliance update: Registering programs involving minors
Emory's Office of Compliance now receives registrations for programs involving minors through a centralized registration platform. Please share the following resources with your staff, especially if your team hosts events or works with minors.
Contact the Office of Compliance if you want to invite representatives to discuss the new process at a staff or faculty meeting in your area. Compliance plans to expand information distribution to all faculty and staff to increase awareness of the new process, ensure compliance, and protect the safety of minors as new programs emerge.

Student Governance Services (SGS) drop box relocated The Student Governance Services (SGS) Office will relocate to the SILT team suite in the Emory Student Center (ESC). The deposit drop box that student organizations and professional Campus Life departments use to process deposits has been moved to the ESC third floor outside suite N309. The drop box is positioned to the left of the office door, directly under the television. Please continue to use this drop box for deposits either after hours or whenever office staff are unavailable. As a reminder, cash, checks and/or money orders should be inserted in an envelope with a completed deposit form and placed in the drop box. If you do not have the physical deposit form, you can scan the QR code located next to the drop box to provide the deposit information electronically. If you choose this option, you may place the envelope in the drop box without a physical form.
Emory contracts with four executive search firms Emory University received eight responses to the executive search firm request for proposal (RFP). Procurement has selected four firms: 3T Consulting Group; Academic Search Inc.; Harris Search Associates; and Isaacson Miller Inc. These firms will become contracted vendors for Emory to use when searching to fulfill executive level positions.

Enhance your understanding of Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation framework Participate in Racial Healing Circle and later a three-hour training session this summer to better understand the Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation framework and enhance skills to facilitate human-centered spaces for transformation. The workshops introduce participants to the transformative power of the racial healing circle, strategies for building community, fostering collaboration, importance of emotionally intelligent facilitation, and prioritizing wellbeing, self-care, and personal growth as a facilitator. Participants must complete a Racial Healing Circle before attending the three-hour training session.

News from Student Center Operations and Events
Student Center Operations and Events (SCOE) co-hosted 25 professionals for the inaugural Renovation & Construction Seminar of the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Danielle Bruce-Steele and Jackie Grinvalds partnered with colleagues from Planning, Design, and Construction and architects from Perkins & Will to deliver a presentation on Campus Life's Cox Hall student identity spaces. ACUI’s mission is “to support college union and student engagement professionals in their service to students and in the advancement of campus community.” The event was hosted June 3-5 at the Hampton Inn Atlanta-Georgia Tech-Downtown. Charlene Hendricks, events coordinator and scheduler with SCOE, has been selected to participate in a career advancement program with the Association of College Unions International (ACUI). Closing the Gap is a career advancement, cohort-based education and mentorship program for BIPOC professionals. The program runs from July through December. The cohort will attend six one-hour Zoom sessions focused on internal skill building, working with others, and building for the future. Each participant will meet with their assigned mentor at least once each month. Read ACUI's story on the 2024 Closing the Gap cohort, including Hendricks, who will begin the program in July by attending the Aspiring Directors Institute in Portland, Oregon. Layne Weldon, AV technician with SCOE, has been awarded a Prism Scholarship from the Higher Education Technology Managers Association (HETMA) and the AV Market Intelligence, Information, and Training (AVIXA) trade association. The scholarship encourages members of underrepresented communities to become active leaders and role models as technology managers in higher education. The scholarship includes a one-year Elite Membership to AVIXA and access to the organization's entire online education catalog, a virtual CTS prep course, course materials and fees for the Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) exam, and more. Jackson Klutznick 24C competes at 129th Amateur Championship Former Emory University men's golfer Jackson Klutznick opened his summer abroad this week as he played two rounds at the 129th Amateur Championship in Ballyliffin, Ireland. The Amateur Championship is one of the biggest and most prestigious amateur championships in the world.
