Lewis named associate director of A&R facilities Effective July 17, Greg Lewis will begin his new role as associate director of Athletics and Recreation (A&R) facilities. Lewis joined the A&R team in April 2021 as coordinator for athletic facilities and events. He was promoted to assistant director in September 2022.
|
|
|
As associate director, Lewis will oversee facilities maintenance and improvements and Athletics events. He will collaborate with head coaches, assistant coaches, and recreation and wellness programming staff, managing external events, camps and clinics. CWE’s Figueroa accepts postdoctoral fellowship The associate director of the Center for Women at Emory (CWE), Taína M. Figueroa, has accepted a postdoctoral fellowship in philosophy at Emory. She will help build out the new Latinx studies minor, part of the Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies Program. Figueroa joined Campus Life as a doctoral intern in the Office for RACE in 2018 before hiring on as program coordinator.

Promoted to assistant director, she led Centro Latinx and helped create space and community for Latine peoples. In 2023, Figueroa transitioned to CWE as associate director and focused on co-curricular projects, including PRAXIS and graduate student development and programming. She hosted the first Latinx Heritage Month programming series, grew community involvement and events like Dia de los Muertos, helped increase the CARAS graduation celebration from 150 to more than 400 guests, and co-created a BIPOC PhD student peer-to-peer mentoring program. Figueroa’s last day with CWE is July 31. You can congratulate Taína on this new opportunity at tfiguer@emory.edu.

AI.Xperience Student Showcase, August 8
The AI.Xperience Student Showcase marks the culmination of the Center for AI Learning’s inaugural summer student experiential learning program. Emory undergraduate and graduate students will share work from their participation in hands-on workshops and research experiences in AI and data science. Light refreshments will be served. Don't miss this opportunity to celebrate the future of AI and data science. Thursday, August 8, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Psychology and Interdisciplinary Sciences Building, room PAIS 290.
