workshops and webinars to help you navigate your work life. For example, the Emory
Child Care Network provides Emory parents with discounts and priority admissions at licensed child care centers throughout Metro Atlanta. Emory Parenting MeetUp connects Emory parents with one another to learn more about parenting issues and available support resources. This virtual gathering meets the first Wednesday of every month from noon to 1 p.m. Please

Cleo Lyles joins CCE
The new coordinator of student-led community engagement for the Center for Civic and Community Engagement at Emory is Cleo Lyles. A 2020 alumna of Clemson University, Cleo earned her BA in sociology with a concentration in community development. She also taught at KIPP Change Academy in Charlotte, NC, and arrives at Emory with a wealth of experience in student leadership and a passion for helping students find themselves through engagement opportunities.
Ali Madani joins CCE’s Atlanta Urban Debate League
A 2010 alumnus of Emory College, Ali Madani is the incoming assistant director of the Atlanta Urban Debate League (AUDL) in the Center for Civic and Community Engagement at Emory. Ali debated for the Barkley Forum and worked with AUDL as an undergraduate studying philosophy and English. He returns to Atlanta and Emory after earning his MA at the University of Pennsylvania and PhD in English Literature at Brown University. During the past 10 years, Ali has taught at colleges and universities. Ali is eager to bring his experience working with undergraduates to further AUDL’s mission of empowering metro Atlanta area students through debate education.

Visit the “HOOKED” exhibit while you still can
“HOOKED,” the inaugural exhibition for Emory’s Science Gallery Atlanta, features 22 pieces by local and international artists addressing the myriad ways addiction impacts everyone’s lives. Its goal is to destigmatize addiction by showing how the desire to feel better can morph into an uncontrollable habit.
