Nominations are open for the 100 Senior Honorary Class of 2022 Advancement and Alumni Engagement is accepting nominations for the 100 Senior Honorary Class of 2022. These seniors are campus leaders, thought provokers, dynamic athletes, academic mentors, and community influencers. They have made significant contributions to the Emory community and their alumni communities around the world. Nominations are accepted from students, alumni, faculty, and staff. How student advocates changed the name of a course about Mexico’s history As the Latinx community in America continues to suffer from discrimination and racism, the original title of a fall 2021 history course… sparked intense backlash among Emory’s Latinx community.

The documents include correspondence, memos, reports, flyers, court records, and publications and give a deeper picture of how students engaged administrators in making meaningful change at Emory.

Riyaaz Qawwali Concert at Cannon Chapel Join Emory’s Office of Spiritual and Religious Life to welcome the music ensemble Riyaaz Qawwali. Riyaaz performs the gripping musical style called Qawwali as they spread the power of South Asian devotional music from Islam and a diversity of religions. Saturday, Oct. 16, 6:30 p.m., Cannon Chapel.
Venus Miller joins Campus Life HR Venus joined the team on Oct. 4 as assistant manager of staff development, bringing 15 years of diverse experience in higher education assignments. She reports to Mekeshua L. North, director of Human Resources. Venus comes to Emory from James Madison University where she held several positions of increasing responsibility – from career and academic advisor to career readiness coordinator and, most recently, associate director for student and staff development. In that role, her responsibilities included, among others, conducting training and development programs and facilitating needs assessment, design, development, and delivery of virtual and in-person training and development solutions. She also facilitated numerous presentations and training sessions at the university.
Greg Hollinger moves on – but not far Greg has accepted a position as assistant director of pre-health advising in the Office for Undergraduate Education. He came to Emory in June 2016 from Ohio State University to serve as complex director for Few and Evans Residence Halls. He embraced additional responsibilities each year, including managing Sorority Village and theme communities on Eagle Row and Peavine Creek. Greg assisted with other buildings and served in other roles during times of transition. An informal reception celebrating Greg and his contributions to Residence Life is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 14, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Raoul kitchen area.
