December 8, 2021 Emory’s Barkley Forum debate teams rank among top nationwide The Barkley Forum continues its long tradition of excellence with an invitation to one of the nation’s most prestigious competitive debate tournaments. Woodruff Debate Scholars, Grace Kessler and Eugenia Giampetruzzi, are one of only seven top teams invited to Dartmouth College's 67th annual tournament, the Herbert L. James Debates, in January. Two other Barkley teams ranked in the top 15 in a recent poll that evaluated all teams that competed this semester. The two include junior Andrew Pak, sophomores Henry Mitchell and Shreyas Rajagopal, and first-year Margaret Hecht. As Barkley Forum Director of Debate Mikaela Malsin noted, the ongoing success of Emory’s debaters is possible thanks to the dedication and argumentative creativity of its students, coaches, and other staff. Read the Oct. 6 newsletter brief about the success of Grace and Eu in the Run for Roses tournament earlier this fall.
