Emory's 1599 Clifton Road building is serving again as a DeKalb County polling site. Volunteers are needed
to support the polling site for the 2024 Presidential Preference Primary Elections. Early voting runs
Feb. 19 – March 8. Election Day is
March 12.
Volunteers should sign up for shifts ASAP and make sure to review
training materials before completing

Rachel Brown joins SHS
Emory University Student Health Services (
SHS) has named Rachel Brown, LCSW (she/her/hers), to the inaugural position of eating disorder coordinator and case manager, reporting to Dr. Robert Elliott, director of psychiatry for SHS. As part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides direct service to students via crisis intervention,

clinical evaluation, and case management, Brown plays a key role in coordinating eating disorders care and collaborating with partners across campus and throughout the Atlanta community. She holds a master’s in social work (MSW) and bachelor’s in social work from the University of Georgia, as well as certification as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). Brown’s previous positions include serving as the clinical care coordinator supervisor in the Psychiatry Department at Georgia Institute of Technology, among several roles with other organizations. She enjoys hiking with her husband Robert and toddler son Mason, riding bikes, reading and baking. You can welcome Rachel to the team at

SILT hires Deb Ekeke
Student Involvement, Leadership, and Transitions (SILT) has named a new associate director for student organizations and governance. Deb Ekeke (she/her/hers), reporting to SILT’s director Lisa J. Loveall,
is responsible for advising College Council and establishing leadership development opportunities and training for leaders of student organizations. She served for the past six

years as assistant director for leadership and activities at Xavier University in Cincinnati. Earlier in her career, Ekeke was the assistant director for student life at Morehouse College. Currently pursuing a PhD in educational leadership at the University of Dayton, she holds a master’s in higher education leadership and a bachelor’s in psychology from Mercer University. Ekeke describes herself as a wife and the mother of an “overly opinionated toddler.” She enjoys watching mystery films and reading contemporary fantasy novels. Nominate a student for 2024 Brittain Award
The Marion Luther Brittain Award, considered the highest honor presented to a student by Emory, recognizes graduating students for their outstanding contributions to the university. The honor is presented each year to one undergraduate and one graduate student from any academic division of the university. Fall 2023 and spring 2024 graduates are eligible.

Rapt By Others: Campus Life Book Salon
Join the third edition of Rapt By Others, a book club exploring cultural differences by reading and discussing memoirs that engage a range of human experiences. Meeting monthly at the Emory Bookstore, participants discuss one book in each session to deepen their appreciation of the myriad ways in which human lives unfold. Books are free for participants. Coffee, tea, wine, cheese, and fruit are provided. Participants should

Emory launches new financial wellness checkup for employees
On Jan. 1, Emory launched a new
financial wellness checkup designed to help employees better understand their overall financial picture. The new program, offered in partnership with Emory’s retirement vendor, Fidelity NetBenefits, provides employees with a quick snapshot of their financial health, including a financial wellness score and actionable steps for making improvements. Those eligible can also earn an incentive or reward for participating.
