Student Center Operations and Events welcomes new staff
|
|
|
Beverly Fowler (she/her) is SCOE's new building services worker utility coordinator, reporting to Bob Crowder, associate director of facilities. Fowler shares support responsibilities for a range of Campus Life locations – ESC ballroom and multipurpose meeting rooms; Harland Cinema,
Mary Gray Monroe Theater, and meeting rooms in the AMUC;
Cox Hall Dining; Starbucks; Campus Life Pavilion; and the new student identity spaces in Cox Hall. Fowler served previously as associate director of facilities and conference services for the Task Force for Global Health. She holds certifications in facilities management, project management, and event and conference services. Fowler is a doula and has assisted with delivery of more than 60 babies in three countries.

Charlene Hendricks (she/her) joined
Student Center Operations and Events (SCOE) as events coordinator and scheduler, reporting to Paul Eleazer, SCOE
associate director. Hendricks, who came to Emory in 2022, served most recently as facilities coordinator and earlier as events coordinator with Goizueta Business School. Hendricks holds a master's in organizational leadership and bachelor's in communication, both from Brenau University. She is currently working on her PhD in human services with a focus on nonprofit administration. Hendricks is president and co-founder of the nonprofit Safe Place for Our Tribe. Her hobbies span aerial arts, dance, yoga, astrology and physical fitness.

Marisa Panyasith (she/her) is SCOE’s new audiovisual technician, reporting to Paul Eleazer, SCOE associate director. Panyasith’s responsibilities include maintaining Emory Student Center audiovisual systems. She served previously as an audiovisual technician with Morehouse School of Medicine and events technician with Georgia Gwinnett College. She holds a bachelor’s in information technology/digital media from Georgia Gwinnett College and certifications in Dante Level 1,2,3 and as an Extron AV Associate. Panyasith enjoys spending time with her pandemic pet Katsu and watching soccer and attending matches, especially Atlanta United FC and her hometown team, the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Panyasith’s full name is pronounced “Muh-ri-suh Pan-yah-sit.”

UPDATE (May 22): Emory Express messaging functionality
On May 16, an issue related to internal messages from Emory Express was confirmed. Messages sent internally were not being delivered to recipients.
Jaggaer, the host company for Emory Express, indicated the issue was related to Jaggaer’s recent nationwide migration to Amazon Web Services (AWS). The migration resulted in a backlog of outbound messages on Jaggaer’s mail servers.
Jaggaer indicates the backlog has been cleared. Some of your backlogged message may have gone to your junk folder, so please check. Messages that came through today should be showing up in your inbox.

Student Center Operations and Events promotes two team members
|
Bob Crowder (he/his) has been promoted to associate director of facilities, reporting to SCOE director, Jackie Grinvalds. In his new role, Crowder serves on the SCOE leadership team to help guide the strategic direction of the department. He provides leadership for three busy, multi-purpose student center facilities, several outdoor spaces, and the greater Campus Life organization. Crowder manages a team, acts as a liaison with campus partners, and oversees facilities projects, including construction, and purchasing for SCOE. He joined Emory in 2014 as assistant director of facilities.

Paul Eleazer (he/his) has been promoted to associate director of SCOE, reporting to Jackie Grinvalds, SCOE director. In his new position, Eleazer
coordinates facilities operations, meeting services, student staff operations, and audiovisual services for student centers. His responsibilities include managing
daily operations of meeting services,
serving as audiovisual administrator for new and existing technologies in student centers, and
directing marketing strategies and promotional materials for student centers, including social media and digital displays.
