Emory Black Employee Network members volunteer at Atlanta food bank
On May 19, members of the Emory Black Employee Network (EBEN) volunteered with the
Atlanta Community Food Bank. The 28 Emory employees joined Delta Flight Products employees at the food bank’s Hunger Action Center near College Park. The two teams worked for three hours, sorting donated food and goods totaling almost 6,000 pounds or approximately 5,000 meals. According to Micah Tucker, co-chair of EBEN’s Community Engagement Committee, the network has created robust committees that further the organization’s mission to support Black employees and their allies and enable them to connect with one another off campus and engage with the Metro Atlanta community.
Emory currently has four employee resource groups (ERGs), including: EBEN, Emory Latinx Employee Resource Network (eLERN), Emory Pride Employee Network (EPEN), and Emory Veterans Employee Network (EVEN).
