Emory Athletics announces personnel changes
Phil Engel
has accepted the position of director of communications and sports information, effective August 1. Phil has been a valuable member of the Eagles team during the past seven years as assistant sports information director. He brings that experience and more to his new role.
Lauren Taylor
, Eagles deputy athletics director for external operations since 2021, will leave Emory on August 26. She has accepted a position at ESPN as the associate director of sports marketing for SEC Network. Lauren has made significant contributions to the Athletics Department and Campus Life during her tenure with Emory.
Chris Dailey
, coordinator for athletic equipment and facility operations since 2020, has also accepted a new position. Chris, who has been instrumental in a range of areas during his tenure with the Eagles, will depart Emory on August 26 to serve as equipment manager with the University of Maryland.
Davetta Lackey
will join Emory Athletics on August 22 as assistant director for athletics and recreation operations. She comes to Emory from Florida Atlantic University where she served for three years as coordinator of operations and reservations before being elevated last fall to serve as the Owls' assistant director of business operations and administration for Campus Recreation.

Why aren’t men involved in sexual-assault prevention? A new report offers insights
Many of the men interviewed were unaware of how pervasive sexual violence is on campus or why it should matter to them. According to the Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network, or RAINN, more than a quarter of women and about 7 percent of men experience sexual assault in college.

Racial disparities in PrEP use are getting worse
Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is not benefitting Americans equally across racial/ethnic groups and regions, and the disparities are worsening over time, according to findings presented at the 24th International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2022). The new data are available on the AIDSVu website.
