| Grace Hubby moves on
Grace Hubby (she/her/hers), MSW, has accepted a position with a staffing agency and will leave Emory on Thursday, Nov. 2. She joined Campus Life in 2021 as a respect educator and survivor resource specialist in the Office of Respect. Hubby has been a fierce advocate for Emory students and a passionate professional in delivering trauma-informed survivor support. As the only professional in the office during a period of transition, Hubby continued to deliver outstanding services for Emory students. Her teammates and other Campus Life staff know her as an always warm and encouraging colleague. Hubby holds an MSW degree from the University of Georgia, Athens. She reported to Emily Palmieri, director of the Office of Respect.

SHS hires Flood, Jordan and promotes Verras
Student Health Services (SHS) recently introduced two new professionals and promoted a third in the organization's ongoing commitment to delivering excellence in health care for Emory students.

Sarah Flood, MS, RDN, LD (she/her/hers), is the new nutrition services coordinator with SHS. Flood’s responsibilities include individual counseling sessions for concerns such as sports nutrition, disordered eating, general healthy nutrition, gastrointestinal symptoms, and nutrition-related disease. She also collaborates across campus to increase awareness of SHS’ nutrition services and provide group nutrition education. Flood served most recently as assistant director of the Health 1,2,3,4 Program with Emory’s Center for the Study of Human Health. She holds a master’s in health sciences nutrition with a capstone in sports nutrition from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in music and psychology from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Flood enjoys spending time with her husband and their pets, running, walking, and biking the Atlanta Beltline, visiting new restaurants, traveling, and providing sport nutrition services to local swim teams, including Emory's varsity swim and dive teams. Yormica Truitt Jordan, PA-C (she/her/hers), a physician assistant with 15 years of experience in her field, provides outpatient medical, health and wellness services to Emory students. Jordan began her career as a PA in internal medicine in private practice in Covington, Georgia. Later, she served for 12 years in the emergency department of Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, as well as in urgent care and occupational medicine with Concentra Urgent Care. Born and raised in LaGrange, Jordan holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Albany State University and a master’s in physician assistant studies from South University in Savannah. She enjoys spending time with family, reading, outdoor biking, and traveling the world. She is a proud 24-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brittany Verras, MPH, RD, LD, CSSD, DipACLM (she/her/hers), has been promoted to associate director for nutrition services. After joining the SHS team in 2018 as a clinical dietitian, Verras helped initiate a successful body image support group during the pandemic to serve students via Zoom with weekly meetings and activities to support their relationships with food, eating, self-image and lifestyle. She is also an ongoing part of the Emory’s Women’s Sports and Wellness Conference. Verras joined the Emory family in 2014 with Emory University’s Department of Family and Preventive Medicine as a program coordinator. She holds an MPH from Benedictine University and a bachelor’s in media communications from Kennesaw State. Verras is certified in lifestyle medicine and as a specialist in sports dietetics. Her leisure interests include sports, specifically CrossFit and endurance sports, plant-based nutrition, lifestyle medicine, and finding restaurants that give healthy food a good reputation. The Office of Residence, Sorority and Fraternity Life (ORSFL) team got in the Halloween spirit by hosting a departmental costume contest that was judged by colleagues from Housing Operations. Nicole Jackson as Simone Biles placed first. Second place went to Melissa Echeverry and Tyler Vernon as Lumiére and Cogsworth, with Taz the dog as Beast, characters from the Disney film classic "Beauty and the Beast." Nichelle Frye as Willa Wonka won an honorable mention. A great time was had by all!

Emory Cares: 20 years of serving with heart
For Emory alumna Renelda Mack, Emory Cares started as an idea to unite alumni around the world. As the program turns 20 this year, more than 1,000 volunteer projects have served communities in 255 cities worldwide. Emory Cares International Day of Service is Saturday, Nov. 11. Campus Life staff project for Emory Cares Day: Aid the Journey hygiene kits, November 10.
Join your colleagues in this special project for Campus Life staff for Emory Cares Day. Staff volunteers are needed on Friday, November 10, at 12 p.m. to assemble hygiene kits for Aid the Journey, an organization that provides outreach to refugees, other forcibly displaced youth, and their guardians. Lunch will be provided. Register here. This project represents a partnership between the Center for Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) and the Campus Life Convening Committee.
