Monday, November 6, through Friday, November 10, is Emory First-Gen Week. Join first-generation students and those from low- and limited-income backgrounds for activities every day, including connections to resources, free food, fun, games, and giveaways. Open to all members of the Emory community.

The 15 Project
Artist Fahamu Pecou’s late night talk show format for the arts fuses pop culture, comedy and music entertainment. Pecou interviews artists, musicians, and others for 15 minutes – on the Emory show. Guests for this episode include former music executive and mental health advocate Shanti Das, Olu (Johnny Venus) of the hip-hop group Earthgang, and Junia Abaidoo of LVRN. Faculty, staff and students are welcome. Free event and free food afterward. Be make sure to reserve a spot here. Presented by Emory University. Sari-Jai Walker joins Office of Student Conduct
The new associate director of student conduct is Sari-Jai Walker (SAH-REE-JAY WAH-KER) (she/her/hers), reporting to Julia Thompson, director of the Office of Student Conduct. Walker’s responsibilities include assisting with oversight of the undergraduate student conduct process. Her previous positions include associate director of student rights and responsibilities and chair of the Behavioral Intervention Team with Oglethorpe University; coordinator of

accountability and advocacy with Auburn University, Montgomery; and coordinator of student conduct with the University of West Florida. Walker holds a master’s in education in college student affairs administration and a bachelor’s in social work from West Florida. She is certified in two areas by the National Association for Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment – Behavioral Intervention Teams Standards and Best Practices, as well as Structural Interview for Violence Risk Assessment (SIVRA-35). Walker’s leisure activities include cooking and trying new foods, exploring different cultures, raising houseplants, and engaging with nature. Spots still available: Campus Life's Emory Cares Day Project
Join your colleagues in this special project for Campus Life staff on Emory Cares Day. Staff volunteers are needed to assemble hygiene kits for Aid the Journey, an organization that provides outreach to refugees, other forcibly displaced youth, and their guardians. Friday, November 10, at 12 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Register here. This project represents a partnership between the Center for Civic and Community Engagement (CCE) and the Campus Life Convening Committee.
