The office is driven by an enduring commitment to building inclusive and racially just communities through courageous inquiry of the nature of race and its impact on individual, cultural, and communal development.

The Office for Racial and Cultural Engagement (RACE) provides opportunities for the Emory community to explore concepts of race and racial justice. We promote dynamic and cohesive learning communities by creating space for individual, cultural, and communal development. This is done while observing our three tenets: Education & Awareness, Activism, and Identity Development. Overall, we encourage and challenge individuals to explore racial identities and enhance their awareness of exploration of why and how race informs identity development.
