Dear Emory Campus Life community,

I am delighted to announce that David Clark will join Emory Campus Life as the Associate Vice President for Finance, Administration and Operations. David, who has an extensive higher education background in budget management, capital planning and design, assessment, strategic planning and crisis management, will also serve as a member of ECL’s Executive Leadership Team. He joins our organization at an exciting time as we prepare for construction of the new Campus Life Center, embark on strategic plan implementation and intensify our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

David ClarkDavid will provide strategic direction and oversight for Housing, Dining, Bookstore, Technical Services, Dobbs University Center, Finance Service Center, Human Resources, Ombudsperson, and Learning and Innovation. He will officially assume his new role in early summer.

Previously, David served as Assistant Vice President for Campus Life and Associate Dean in the College at University of Chicago, where he managed major auxiliary services, including College Housing and UChicago Dining. He also served in a variety of leadership roles at Wake Forest University, with responsibility for such areas as Residential Life, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Facilities Operation. His operational portfolio included leadership for seven graduate and undergraduate programs in Wake Forest’s School of Business.

David received his bachelor of science in education and master of education from University of Georgia. He has a doctor of philosophy in curriculum and instruction from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and his dissertation topic was on resident advisor effectiveness.

His leadership has ensured stability and continuity during this transitional period, and he will remain a vital asset to our organization moving forward.
