Respect Program. The RespectCon 2018 national conference, hosted by Campus Life's Respect Program, was held April 6-7 at the Emory Conference Center. The conference, now in its sixth year, was established by Emory students to help foster conversations around the intersections of social justice and sexual assault prevention on college and university campuses. Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life. OSFL is implementing: 1) increased staffing for sorority and fraternity life housing, and 2) enhanced group-advising for our historically underserved Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC). Searches are well underway to fill three new full-time professional positions by summer to replace the previous part-time graduate student positions. More about OSFL: http://osfl.emory.edu/

Housing Operations. In concert with OSFL’s staffing increases, Housing Operations is accelerating a plan already in place to provide greater staff support. The staffing increases by Housing and OSFL will better align support for sorority and fraternity housing with that provided for the university’s other undergraduate residential housing. Emory Career Center, a unit of Campus Life, received a donation of $2,000 from Enterprise Holdings to support the Emory Enterprise Clothing Closet as a demonstration of the company's ongoing support. Enterprise provided the initial $5,000 gift two years ago to create space in the B. Jones Building for the Clothing Closet and to purchase professional attire to complement clothing donated by members of the Emory community. Emory Career Center saw 100 percent of its 43 graduating pre-law students in the Class of 2017 admitted to law schools, an impressive accomplishment for any institution. Campus Life Center. The following information is provided by Campus Services.

During the week of April 2-7: Approximately 125 People worked onsite, including 10 trade subcontractors and the construction manger’s crews. Underground utilities were being located on Asbury Circle. Crews were completing steel framing, installing exterior cladding, and working on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the north and south pavilions. Shoring at the loading dock continues. Masons are working the west face of the south pavilion and constructing block walls for mechanical rooms. A large air-handling unit has been placed in the first-floor main mechanical room.   

Scheduled for April 9-14: Completion of formwork and steel reinforcing for loading dock cap is a priority. The goal is to complete the concrete pours prior to the start of final exams. Crews will continue to work inside and outside the building. Extra care will be taken due to the numerous Dooley’s Week activities taking place at various locations along Asbury Circle. (Photo provided by Campus Services.)
